Research Group on Information Seeking (REGIS)


Studies on information needs, seeking and use constitute one of the priority areas of research at the Department of Information Studies, University of Tampere. The Research Group on Information Seeking (REGIS) was established in 1994. REGIS is mentored by Professor Reijo Savolainen.

The themes of the current research projects range from problems of job-related information needs to issues of everyday life information seeking and use, digital libraries and social informatics. The group convenes frequently to discuss research projects on progress. It also organizes informal research colloqia.

Currently, the group consists of about a dozen researchers including senior and post doctoral researchers and doctoral students.
