Research Group on Information Retrieval in Context (IRiX)The Research Group on Information Retrieval in Context (IRiX) focuses on interactive information retrieval from the angle of task performance. The aim is to study information searching and the role of information retrieval systems in support of human actions and tasks. We study how various groups like professionals or school children search for information and use retrieval tools in their task performance, how conceptual and terminological tools support search process and outcome, and how these tools match with users' ways of conceptualizing and expressing their information needs.
